  If you are a new immigrant (Oleh) and you wish to study in Israel there are many programs available to you. You are also entitled to many benefits such as loans and financial assistance. In this section you will find information about your rights and benefits.
 
The Student Authority, Immigrant Absorption

The Student Authority offers a variety of services to immigrant services including information and counseling to immigrant students, scholarships, loans and funding assistance.

Student Authority Assistance
The Student Authority provides with the following types of financial assistance:
 Tuition grants – for up to three years for undergraduate studies, and or graduate studies. The grant is dependant on your academic achievements and the fulfillment of a volunteer community work requirement.
 Tuition assistance for English as a foreign language courses.
 Loans
 Tuition loans for students who need further assistance with tuition fees
 Financial loans for students with financial difficulties.
 Housing – assistance in securing housing in the student dormitories.
 Rental fee assistance – available for four years from immigration to every “lone” immigrant.
 Cultural and social activities - cultural activities, outings to theaters, concerts and shows, seminars on Zionism and current affairs etc. For detailed descriptions of available assistance please check what does the assistance include?. Registering for Student Authority Assistance
You can register for Student authority assistance abroad
, by contacting your immigration emissary (shaliach aliya) of the Jewish Agency, the student emissary nearest your home, or counselors at special events organized by the Student Authority and the Jewish Agency. You will need to provide education certificates as well as approval of eligibility for immigration.

In Israel you should contact the nearest Student Authority for counseling and information and in order to check whether you are eligible for assistance. You will be required to provide the following documents:  Immigration certificate (Teudat Oleh)
 Matriculation certificate/high school graduation diploma or documents
 Authorization of acceptance to an institution of higher education in Israel
 Authorization of army deferment for immigrants in Israel over a year. Returning minors require an authorization of enlistment.
