New mapping services designed for tourists

New mapping services designed for tourists The Ministry of Tourism launched new mapping services, following survey results that revealed that online maps are the most required feature by tourists visiting Israel.

Besides a general map of the state of Israel additional maps are available, featuring all major cities - Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Netanya, Tiberias and Eilat, along with a special map intended for pilgrims, marking important Christian sites in Israel.

All maps are designed especially for tourist planning their visit to Israel and indicate tourist attractions, national parks and nature reserve, sport centers, shopping areas and other services from post offices to pharmacies. The maps are shown in user-friendly PDF format, allowing users to browse, enlarge and print them in high quality.

To complete the user experience for the quarter of million potential tourists visiting the Ministry of Tourism's website every month, a catalog of 2000 pictures of tourist attractions, archeological sites, people and sceneries taken all across Israel is now also available from the website. Visitors can search the gallery by the name of the tourist attraction, geographic area, particular religious group or by keywords.
